2023 Kia EV6 Maintenance Schedule
Skip the oil changes and ignition tune-ups — there’s no combustion engine here. What the EV6’s E-GMP motor and battery actually call for, between 7,500 and 150,000 miles, is tire rotation, a cabin filter, brake fluid, battery-thermal coolant, and (on AWD models) reduction-gear service. Every row spells out what’s due at that stop.

The Full 2023 Kia EV6 Service Timeline, Mile by Mile
First visit, 7,500 miles: tire rotation and a multi-point inspection, both due for the first time.
15,000 miles: the repeat tire rotation and multi-point inspection, plus a first cabin air filter swap.
22,500 miles: back for the routine tire rotation and multi-point inspection.
30,000 miles: tire rotation, multi-point inspection, and cabin air filter, all repeating.
37,500 miles pairs the usual tire rotation and multi-point inspection with a first reduction-gear oil inspection.
45,000 miles covers tire rotation, multi-point inspection, and cabin air filter, plus the first brake fluid exchange.
52,500 miles: tire rotation and multi-point inspection, right on schedule.
60,000 miles: another round of tire rotation and multi-point inspection.
67,500 miles: tire rotation, multi-point inspection, and cabin air filter repeat.
75,000 miles: standard tire rotation and multi-point inspection.
82,500 miles: tire rotation, multi-point inspection, cabin air filter, and reduction-gear oil inspection.
90,000 miles: tire rotation and multi-point inspection, nothing new due.
97,500 miles: tire rotation, multi-point inspection, cabin air filter, and brake fluid exchange.
105,000 miles: the routine tire rotation and multi-point inspection.
112,500 miles: tire rotation, multi-point inspection, and cabin air filter.
120,000 miles is a major milestone: tire rotation, multi-point inspection, and reduction-gear oil inspection, plus the first battery-thermal coolant service.
127,500 miles: tire rotation, multi-point inspection, and cabin air filter repeat.
135,000 miles: tire rotation and multi-point inspection.
142,500 miles closes strong: tire rotation, multi-point inspection, cabin air filter, brake fluid exchange, and battery-thermal coolant.
150,000 miles: tire rotation and multi-point inspection wrap up the chart.
Rows shaded above mark the major milestones. This chart keeps everything on Kia’s standard 7,500-mile grid so it lines up with other models — but the EV6 has no combustion engine, meaning no oil change or ignition-system service ever shows up. In practice, tire rotation and inspection run every 8,000 miles; the cabin air filter is checked at 8,000 miles and swapped roughly every 16,000; brake fluid runs roughly every 48,000 miles; and battery-thermal coolant is first serviced at 120,000 miles, then roughly every 24,000 miles after. Dual-motor AWD EV6s carry a front reduction-gear unit (single-motor RWD EV6s skip it) that’s inspected rather than replaced, roughly every 32,000–40,000 miles under normal use; a severe-conditions replacement figure exists but isn’t confirmed for the US market, so we’ve left it off this page rather than guess. How you drive can shift these intervals — severe use shortens them. When in doubt, check your Owner’s Manual or ask a Dean McCrary Kia technician.
Every 8,000 Miles
- Tire rotation and balance
- Multi-point vehicle inspection
- Top off fluids and check for leaks
- Check battery and brake condition
- No combustion engine to worry about
Key Mileage Markers
- 16k mi — cabin air filter
- 32k–40k mi — reduction-gear oil inspection (AWD front unit)
- 48k mi — brake fluid exchange
- 120k mi — first battery-thermal coolant, then every ~24k
EV-Specific Care
- Battery-thermal coolant holds the high-voltage system in its ideal temperature range
- The reduction gear gets inspected, not replaced, under normal use
- Only dual-motor AWD EV6s carry the front reduction-gear unit; RWD models skip it
- Leave high-voltage battery service to trained technicians
- Keeping up with this schedule protects your high-voltage battery warranty

2023 EV6 Service Questions
What Does the Factory Schedule Cover on a 2023 EV6?⌄
Tire rotation, cabin air filter, brake fluid, battery-thermal coolant, and, on AWD models, reduction-gear service. Since there’s no combustion engine under the hood, oil changes and ignition-system tune-ups simply aren’t part of the picture.
What Does a 2023 EV6 Actually Need Done to It?⌄
No engine means no oil and no plugs to worry about. What’s left is tire rotation, cabin air filter, brake fluid, and battery-thermal coolant service — first at 120,000 miles, then roughly every 24,000 after. AWD dual-motor versions also carry a front reduction-gear unit, which gets inspected (not replaced) roughly every 32,000–40,000 miles under typical driving.
Do Charging Habits or Regenerative Braking Change the EV6’s Maintenance?⌄
Not really. Battery-thermal coolant handles heat from driving and DC fast charging alike, so keeping up with that service keeps the high-voltage battery in range no matter how often you fast-charge. Regenerative braking eases wear on the friction brakes, but brake fluid still gets swapped on its own set interval regardless.
Is the Battery on a 2023 EV6 Covered Under Warranty?⌄
It is. The high-voltage battery is backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty (stretched to 15-year/150,000-mile in CARB states), and that coverage stands apart from the routine service items listed here.
