After roughly 1.5 million units sold, Kia wound down US Soul production in October 2025 to focus its lineup on crossovers and EVs. Regardless of model year, any Soul that comes through our doors still gets the full factory-scheduled service at Dean McCrary Kia.
2023 — Refresh, Turbo Dropped
X-Line and the 1.6T Exit the Lineup Engine Change
A mid-cycle update cut both the X-Line trim and the 1.6L turbo-GDI engine, so the 2.0L MPI paired with the CVT became the sole setup through the remainder of production.
2020 — New Generation
Third Generation Debuts, Two Engines Offered New Gen
Two powertrains launched the 3rd-gen Soul: a 147-hp 2.0L MPI standard across the lineup, plus a 201-hp 1.6L turbo-GDI limited to GT-Line/Turbo trims through MY2022. Plan on oil and tire rotation every 7,500 miles or 12 months, a cabin air filter swap starting at 15,000 miles and repeating every 30,000, an engine air filter every 30,000 miles or 24 months, spark plugs at 96,000 miles for the 2.0L (42,000 for the 1.6T), brake fluid every 48,000 miles or 48 months (24 months on 2020 models), and the first coolant service at 120,000 miles.
