Base Engine Moves From Turbo to Naturally Aspirated Engine Change
Alongside Star Map LED lighting, dual 12-inch displays, and a new rotary shifter came a swap under the hood: the 1.6L turbo base engine gave way to a 2.5L naturally-aspirated unit (the GT trim holds onto its 2.5L turbo). That pushed the spark-plug interval on base trims from the shorter turbo cadence (~48,000 miles) out to the longer NA figure of 96,000 miles.

2021 — New Generation
K5 Replaces the Optima New Gen
This is where the 3rd-generation DL3 K5 took over from the Optima, launching with a 180-hp 1.6L turbo base and a 290-hp 2.5L turbo GT. Routine oil and rotation lands at 8,000 miles or 12 months, brake fluid gets replaced at 48,000 miles or 48 months, and the first coolant change comes due at 120,000 miles.
